DSC_00281In Show 3,  Steve Woolley, External Affairs Manager at the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) explains the Hackathon, the world’s largest marketing conversation. The CIM has created to Hackathon as a discussion forum to look at the changing role of marketing. You can join this at Marketing2025.com.

In Jargon Buster! Charles Nixon describes the Red-Blue Ocean strategy. Red Oceans are strategies where companies concentrate on beating the competition. Blue Oceans are where companies look at being unique. For example, Nintendo did not study the Sony Playstation or the XBox when creating the Wii, but looked at why people are non-gamers and how to encourage them to buy a gaming console.

In part 2 of our discussion of the Internet of Things (I0T), Karl Meyer, Product Manager at Geant, and Terry Nicklin, Director of KeyNotePR, return to look at the marketing implications and some of the privacy issues around I0T.
